Dartmoor Arts Printmaking Summer School

There are bursaries available for Dartmoor Arts Summer School.

During the week young, emerging and established artists have the space in which to explore their practice and realise the possibilities of their work in an dynamic, creative and supportive environment. The week is also about continual professional development, a space dedicated completely to making your own work. It is also about the opening up of opportunities for younger artists – many who have gone on to do amazing projects and exhibitions, inspired by the week, by our tutors, the artists they have met and the contacts they have made. Artist/educators take new skills away with them which they then share with their own students.

Printmaking course– This course provides a special opportunity to work with Kip Gresham, one of the most influential and experienced printmakers working in the UK. Kip will be teaching various printmaking techniques including etching, relief printing and screen printing. Students will have the chance initially to work on monoprinted images with the option of producing multiples later in the week. Students will not only benefit from Kip’s expert teaching, but will also have the support of Kip’s personal studio staff Tim and Ivana who will be on site. A group critique will be held on the final day, allowing for constructive feedback and discussion and a unique chance to have your work reviewed by a master printmaker.

Some experience of printmaking would be beneficial to participate in this course, though not essential. It is aimed at artists who have serious intent to explore printmaking as part of their practice and printmakers who would like to take their work to the next level.
