2D is one of 7 Technical groups in the College and runs a variety of workshops which cover the following specialisms: Photography, Letterpress and Specialist Digital Print at King’s Cross and Printmaking at Archway.
As a technical assistant you will be working within our workshops ensuring both staff and students can work safely within health and safety regulations, supervising and assisting students with their work. You will not only bring key skills with you but will have the opportunity to develop new skills and experience across a wide range of technical workshops. This post is largely a flexible role and you will work to a structured roster over the course of the year, however the working pattern will mainly cover our term times.
You should have a BA in an Art and Design subject, or equivalent experience, with an aptitude for working with a variety of printmaking processes, you will be able to communicate with a wide range of students and be able to work and learn with a team. This post is primarily suitable for recent graduates, however we do welcome interest from a wide variety of candidates who have an interest in furthering their knowledge of workshop based practice and discipline.

The Multiplied Art Fair starts on Friday and runs until Monday (21st October).
It’s held at Christies and is free to visit. There are rooms and rooms of contemporary prints, original artworks, artists books and workshops. The Royal College of Art Printmaking MA show is on and there are free printmaking workshops twice a day.
