Multiplied at Christies

Multiplied_art_fair_2014

The Multiplied Art Fair, which is devoted to edition contemporary artwork (mostly prints) opened today. There are over 40 stands showing prints, photography, multiples and artist’s books.

Alongside the exhibitors there are live printing demonstrations (from wood block to 3D printing) as well as artist talks from Peter Blake, Marcus Coates and more.

An exhibition held alongside the fair showcases key works from the extensive Printmaking Archive at the Royal College of Art. The collection comprises work by students from the early 1960s (when systematic collecting began) to the present day with some earlier prints from the 1890s. Professor Jo Stockham, Head of Programme for Printmaking at the Royal College of Art discusses the collection and ‘bringing the archive alive’ in a talk at Multiplied on Saturday 18th October.
