Currently available on BBC iplayer and first shown in 2013 this documentary is filmed in the London studio of Norman Ackroyd, one of the country’s most celebrated landscape artists. The film documents Ackroyd producing a print in his ‘etching factory’ as he is interviewed. Ackroyd talks about his inspirations, his time at the Royal College of Art in the 1960s and his fascination with the etching process.
“One of the great things about etching is you can’t rush it, so there become these little times where you’ve just got to take a break. And that’s one of the great bonuses of the process, because you’ve got time to think about it, reflect on what you’re doing”
